Ginger Solomon is a Christian, a wife, a mother to seven, and a writer — in that order (mostly). When not homeschooling her youngest four, doing laundry or fixing dinner, she writes or reads romance of any genre, some sci-fi/fantasy, and some suspense. She’s a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, president of her local writing group, and writes regularly for two blogs. In addition to all that, she loves animals, likes to do needlework (knitting, crocheting, and sometimes cross-stitch), and is a fan of Once Upon a Time and Dr. Who.
Oh, I enjoy cross-stitch, Ginger! Okay, let's get started.

What
three books did you enjoy as a child and tell us why? I was an avid reader, so
it's incredibly hard to point out just one. I remember loving Charlotte's Web, and then a little
later, I loved mysteries. One of my 8th grade teachers had a cabinet full of
Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. We were allowed to check them out to take home
and read. I probably read one every few days. I was a slower reader back then.
:)
What
three books did you enjoy as a teen and tell us why? Oh, sad to say, I loved
Harlequin romances as a teen. I don't remember where I got them, but I could
devour one in a few hours.
What
was your inspiration for Second Choice? Many of my readers begged
for Anaya's story after reading One
Choice, my debut novel. When thinking about how her tale would go, I knew I
wanted to make it a marriage of convenience/tradition type book, similar to One Choice, but it had to be different,
too. I had hinted about her upcoming nuptials in One Choice, so I already knew she had a few noble sons to choose
from--a list her father had provided for her. Then I explored the "what
if" question. What if her first choice turned out to be someone other than
who he pretended to be? What if she only had a few short weeks to make a second
choice? And so, Second Choice was
born.
This
sounds intriguing, Ginger, what do you find is your greatest challenge in the
creative process of writing a book? Tying up all of my plot points. I am an organic
(seat of the pants) writer. As such, I sometimes forget what I've written in
the beginning. Thank goodness for the editing process, even though I hate it.
Sounds
like my writing style. What’s your greatest challenge after a book is
published? Marketing.
I hate trying to "sell" things to people. It feels like I'm being
pushy or even arrogant to shove my books in their faces. I'm getting over it.
This
is good you’re accepting the promotional part, because it is so necessary,
isn’t it.

Where
can readers purchase Second Choice?
Give
us the book blurb for Second Choice:
Set
to be married in less than a month, Princess Anaya Vallis’s intended runs away,
leaving only a cryptic note behind. Her father insists the wedding go forth as
planned with a new groom. She has days to make a second choice.
Titus
Vasco is like a ship without a rudder, floating through life without purpose.
Until she calls. He accepts her proposal without hesitation.
But
wedded bliss does not come easily. Two virtual strangers brought together by
unforeseen circumstances must learn to trust each other and God’s plan for
their lives in order to achieve the happily-ever-after they both long for.
Great
teaser, Ginger. What do you hope readers will take away from this book? As Isaiah 55:9 tells us,
God's ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our
thoughts. Life doesn't always turn out the way we expect, or even like, but God
always has our best in mind.
Perfect
truth!
Ginger,
thank you for being here on Feature Friday.
Until
next time . . . read Ginger Solomon’s Second
Choice.
