Restored Back Jacket: Sometimes love
arrives when you least expect it.
Dr. Steven Moore is known
nationally for saving lives. If only he could save his own. Unable to deal with
his cancer prognosis, he retreats to a happier time in his past—to the woman who
once stole his heart. Four years after the death of her beloved husband,
bookstore owner Elizabeth Roberts still struggles to sustain her faith and joy
in the Lord as she raises her two sons. She strives to find a way through her
family's grief, never suspecting a man from her past might offer hope for her
future. But how can there be a future when he's only come to kiss her and says
good-bye?
Tell us a few things about yourself some folks may not
know, Tanya. Oh, goodness, that’s hard! =) How about the fact I never wanted to write. Never cared to
write until I was older and felt the Lord calling me. I remember my husband
leaving for a mission trip and there I was, typing away at the keys with a
burden to share a story I had no idea where it would be heading. This was the
beginning of my Unending Love series.
How about one more fact, Tanya? Let’s see… The first novel I wrote was entitled LIVE BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT. This story was actually the beginning
of the Unending Love series, but
honestly, the book will never be published because it wasn’t very good. The
second novel originally in the series became the first. Unconditional was published in 2013. Restored was published just last month.
Great! Two books to your credit. What gives you the
most satisfaction in your writing—besides "The End," that is? My favorite part of writing,
is just writing the story. I love seeing my characters come alive.
What do you hope readers will take away from Restored? I hope readers will take away the fact God is our hope, our comfort, and our fortress. He is faithful--when those tough times come, and they will, He will never leave us. He is the One who gives us hope, a future, and a peace that transcends all understanding.
I dedicated Restored to those whose faith is shaken.
To anyone who is searching. To anyone who needs to believe in the impossible.
For as Luke 1:37 says, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
This is wonderful and truth, Tanya! Is this book’s
setting based on a real place? Yes, Miami and Monticello are both real places I used
as settings in Restored. I added
fictional people and events, but I love how it all came together as Steven and
Elizabeth journeyed from one location to the other.
What was your inspiration for Restored? I believe the Lord called
me to write. Several years ago I was diagnosed with cancer and it was a
defining moment, not only dealing with my cancer prognosis, but asking the Lord
if He truly called me to write as I thought or was I mistaken. But through the
fears and searching for God’s direction, I learned He did indeed place this
desire to write on my heart and no matter what I was facing in my life, that
didn’t diminish His call. I’m inspired by the Lord to write inspirational
Christian fiction, so people may know the love of Christ. To know the depth He
will go to have a relationship with us. And though we struggle, He uses us, He
uses people like me, the ordinary, to do out of the ordinary things. Unexpected
things—like writing.
Oh, I love this, Tanya, and a Sister in Christ! What
do you have in store for the year of 2016? I’m changing gears
from Contemporary to Historical Romance. I’m working on a series of novels set
in the late 1800’s. The first novel in the ALL
ROADS LEAD TO TEXAS series is called The
Rescue which will be releasing this fall! Each heroine has circumstances
that will drive them to a small town in Texas. This series has been such an
adventure to write, and I’m looking forward to introducing them to my readers.
Wow, Tanya, all the research you have to do for
writing historical! I admire you. Thank you for joining us here on Feature Friday.
Until next time . . . read Tanya’s Unconditional and Restored!
