As I go through the process of setting up my first book signing, I keep wanting to pinch myself. Is this really happening?
The books are two anthologies I've contributed to, "Love Is A Verb Devotional: 365 Daily Inspiration To Bring Love Alive" and "Celebrating Christmas With . . . Memories, Poetry, and Good Food."
The book signing is at Evangel Family Book Store in Grants Pass, Oregon on December 17th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Guess what I found in writing these stories? It's my niche. I never imagined myself writing for anthologies, so I never pursued it. When my Christian writer's list put a call out for stories, though, I thought, "Why not?"
I penned a story last June. It was accepted in September, and that was a first for what I hope is a long career in anthology writing. Even when I become book published, I want to contribute to anthologies. They're quick, and a great way to share stories with readers for a belly laugh, or to cause them cry, or say "Yes, someone understands." That's what we writers work toward to make our readers FEEL an emotion, while giving them an entertaining story.
I'll let readers of my blog know how the signing turns out.
Until next time . . . I work on the signing.
